On Friday, June 16th, Soroptimist International of Ukiah held their annual installation of new club officers during a dinner at the Thompson Family home in Redwood Valley and catered by Zack's Catering.  The ceremony also included the presentation of the Past President's Pin, Attendance Awards and Soroptimist of the Year.

As Installing Officer, Jessica Kimball began the ceremony by introducing the theme for the coming year as selected by the incoming President, Katie Kight; "Soroptimists Shine... Brightening Our Club, Community and World!"  Katie's son Brandon took these words and visually brought them to life by creating an image that was displayed throughout the event in a fun, yet meaningful way.  It was through the
inspiration of this image that Jessica captured the essence of Katie's theme and shared an inspiring message throughout the installation ceremony as she presented each new officer with a colorful candy pinwheel representing Katie's colors.  Jessica impressed upon the new officers their responsibilities and the importance of their work.

The 2012 - 2013 SI Ukiah Officers include; Katie Kight - President, Willow Anderson - Vice President, Loretta Tognoli - Recording Secretary, Tiffany Gibson - Corresponding Secretary, Janet Hunt - Treasurer, Linda Davis - Asst. Treasurer, Tami Glasco - Director,
Eloise Grothe - Director, Sharon Barker - One Year Delegate, Tina Rorabaugh - One Year
Delegate, Jessica Kimball - Two Year Delegate, Carol Lanier - Two Year Delegate.

"I'm honored to serve as President in the coming year, to lead and guide our dynamic group of women who represent a wide range of professions, small businesses, generations, backgrounds and interests.", says Kight.  "As we blend our skills and talents to make a difference for women and children locally and internationally, we can also look forward to having fun and developing
lifelong friendships."

The club's current President, Tami Glasco passed on the club's Founder Region Fellowship pin and President's pin to Katie.  Anne Holden then presented Tami with her Past President's Pin and a beautifully engraved award.

Anne continued the program by announcing the Perfect Attendance Award recipients which include; Janet Hunt 2 years, Katie Kight 3 years, Tami Glasco 4 years, Jessica Kimball 16 years, Eloise Grothe 23 years, Anne Holden 26 years and Vi Richardson 42 years.

To conclude the presentations for the evening, Tami Glasco announced the Soroptimist of the
Year, Jessica Kimball.  This is the greatest honor bestowed upon a club member.  The recipient is selected by the club president honoring an outstanding Soroptimist that stays true to the mission and goes above and beyond serving the club.

SI Ukiah is part of an international volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
