On Saturday, June 18th, Soroptimist International of Ukiah held their annual installation of new club officers during a dinner at Schat's Courthouse Bakery. The ceremony also included the presentation of Attendance Awards, the Past President's Pin and Book, and Soroptimist of the Year.
For the benefit of all members, Ann Holden described the duties of each office as she installed the new club
officers for 2011-2012 which include Tami Glasco, President; Penny McIntosh, Vice President; Lorraine Purviance, Recording Secretary; Joyce Melton, Corresponding Secretary; Janet Hunt, Treasurer; Katie Kight, Assistant Treasurer; Anne Holden & Eloise Grothe, Directors; Jessica Kimball & Carol Lanier, One-Year Delegates; Sharon Barker & Tina Rorabaugh, Two-Year Delegates.
Perfect Attendance Award recipients include Janet Hunt, 1 year; Katie Kight, 2 years; Tami Glasco, 3 years; Jessica Kimball, 15 years; Julie Sawyer, 18 years; Eloise Grothe 22 years; Anne Holden, 25 years; Ginger Masini, 40 years; Vi Richardson, 41 years.
Tami Glasco, 2010-2011 Club President, was presented with her Past President Pin and Book. In accordance with the phrase from the Soroptimist Pledge, "The sincerity of friendship", Tami will continue her theme "Friends" as she serves a second one-year term as 2011-2012 Club President.
Katie Kight was honored as SI of Ukiah 2010-2011 Soroptimist of the Year. This is the greatest honor bestowed upon a member. The recipient is selected by the club president honoring an outstanding Soroptimist that stays true to the mission and goes above and beyond serving the club.
Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
