Soroptimist International of Ukiah
​Chartered June 4, 1949

As a service club, we have a long and distinguished history in our community.  We're a diverse group of women representing a wide range of professions, small businesses, generations, backgrounds and interests... all with a common thread that connects us - the desire to improve the lives of women and girls in our community and throughout the world.  We do this by providing financial and volunteer support. We also have a great deal of fun!  

Our name Soroptimist is a coined Latin word meaning "best for women", and that's what we strive to achieve. We are individuals at our best working to help women be their best.  

Soroptimist was founded in 1921 in Oakland California. Today the organization has grown to about 89,000 members in over 3,000 clubs located in 120 countries and territories.
